Idigbo (Terminalia ivorensis) is a light to medium-density tropical hardwood native to West Africa. It typically has a pale yellow to light golden-brown heartwood that darkens slightly with age, and a clearly defined paler sapwood. The grain is usually straight with a fine to medium texture, giving it a fairly uniform appearance. Idigbo is relatively easy to machine, glue and finish, and offers good dimensional stability. It has moderate natural durability, performing well in protected exterior and interior environments, though it is not as durable as heavier tropical hardwoods.

In the timber industry, Idigbo is widely used for joinery, doors, windows, furniture, mouldings and interior panelling. It is also commonly specified for exterior joinery such as window frames and door sets where a stable, workable hardwood is required, often with preservative treatment for increased longevity. Its ease of machining and consistent performance make it a popular alternative to teak or oak in many architectural and construction applications, particularly where cost efficiency and reliable supply are important.
