Mouldings and profiles
Mouldings and profiles timber is used for a wide range of decorative and functional interior and exterior finishing elements, including skirting boards, architraves, cornices, dado rails, trims, beadings and custom profiled sections. It is used in both residential and commercial construction, to provide architectural detail, while concealing joints and transitions.
This application requires timber that is stable, easy to machine and capable of holding crisp, detailed profiles without splintering or distortion. Species such as European Oak and American White Oak are widely used for high-quality mouldings due to their strength, attractive grain and excellent durability, particularly in heritage and premium interiors. American Ash and European Ash offer excellent workability and a clean finish, making them ideal for painted or natural mouldings with sharp profiles. Sapele and Utile provide a stable, fine-grained alternative for decorative profiles with a richer colour, while Redwood Pine and Parana Pine are commonly used for cost-effective, easy-to-machine mouldings in general construction and interior finishing work.
