Flooring

Flooring timber is widely used in both domestic and commercial interiors for the construction of floorboards, parquet flooring, engineered wood floors and high-traffic surface finishes. It is also commonly specified in public buildings, retail environments and heritage restorations where durability, appearance and long-term wear resistance are essential, as well as in feature flooring where natural character and grain definition are key design elements.

This application requires timber with excellent hardness, dimensional stability and resistance to wear, indentation and movement under changing humidity conditions. Species such as English and European Oak are among the most widely used due to their strength, durability and attractive grain, making them suitable for both traditional and contemporary flooring. American White Oak and European Ash also perform well thanks to their toughness and stability, particularly in high-traffic areas. For premium or luxury applications, species such as Teak and Walnut offer excellent performance, while Beech and Maple (American) are valued for their hardness and clean, light appearance in modern interior flooring designs.
